Key Concepts
Before diving in, here are a few concepts that are central to how Basefloor works:
Hotel Chains & Multi-tenancy
Basefloor is designed for hotel chains — groups of one or more properties under a shared brand. Each hotel chain gets its own isolated instance of Basefloor, accessible at a unique subdomain:
https://your-brand.basefloor.appAll data — properties, bookings, guests, staff — is completely isolated between chains. You will never see another chain's data.
Properties
A Property is an individual hotel or venue that belongs to your chain. Each property has its own rooms, amenities, and staff assignments.
Roles
Basefloor uses role-based access control (RBAC). Every staff member is assigned a role that determines what they can view and do:

| Owner | Full access to all chain settings, billing, and properties |
| Manager | Full access within a property, including staff management |
| Front Desk | Can manage bookings, check-ins, and guest records |
| Housekeeping | Can view and update room statuses |
| Read-only | View-only access for reporting |

Set up your first Property — add your hotel's name, address, and contact details
Configure rooms and amenities — define room types, capacities, and available features
Invite your team — add staff members and assign appropriate roles
