Understanding these industry-standard terms will help you get the most out of Basefloor's reporting and management tools.
ADR (Average Daily Rate)
A performance metric that represents the average rental income per paid occupied room in a given period.
Formula: Total Room Revenue / Number of Rooms Sold
RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room)
The most important metric in the hospitality industry. it measures a hotel's ability to fill its available rooms at an average rate.
Formula: Total Room Revenue / Total Number of Available Rooms
Folio
The official record of a guest's financial transactions during their stay. This includes room charges, tax, and any incidental charges like minibar or room service.
Occupancy Rate
The percentage of all available rooms that are occupied at a given time.
Formula: (Total Rooms Occupied / Total Rooms Available) × 100
No-Show
A term used for a guest who has a confirmed reservation but does not arrive at the property on the scheduled check-in date and has not cancelled the booking.
Housekeeping Status
- Clean: Room is ready for check-in.
- Dirty: Room needs cleaning (usually after a check-out).
- Inspected: Room has been cleaned and verified by a supervisor.
- Out of Order (OOO): Room is unavailable due to maintenance or repairs.
Stay Duration (LOS - Length of Stay)
The number of nights a guest spends at the property.
Tenant / Chain
In Basefloor, a Chain is the top-level entity that owns one or more Properties. A Tenant refers to the isolated instance assigned to that Chain.
